4. Arrangements

AreaWhat we do
Risk assessmentWe assess the risks in our work, record the significant findings and review them when things change.
Work at heightWe avoid it where we can. Where it is needed, the right equipment is used by people competent to use it.
Manual handlingWe use handling aids where practical, and plan heavy or awkward lifts before they start.
Vehicles and deliveriesDeliveries are planned with the customer. Loading and unloading follow the carrier’s rules and the site’s rules.
Installation workInstallation is carried out by subcontractors chosen for their competence and insurance, working to a method statement for the job.
Customer sitesWe follow the site’s own rules, inductions and permit systems, and stop work if conditions are unsafe.
Fire and emergenciesOur premises have a fire risk assessment, marked escape routes and an assembly point.
Accidents and first aidFirst aid is available at our premises. Accidents and near misses are recorded, and reported to the HSE where the law requires.

5. Review

We review this policy every twelve months, and sooner if our work, our premises or the law changes. The current version is the one published on our website.
